Dr. Tod Bolsinger, Vice President for Vocation and Formation and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Fuller Theological Seminary and author of Canoeing the Mountains, Christian Leadership in Uncharted Territory, will be the keynote speaker. Confirmation Retreat - Join the Journey

March 1-3, 2019

Designed for students in the fifth grade and above, the "Join the Journey" Confirmation Retreat will provide churches of all sizes an opportunity to connect with others through worship, study, and fellowship. The event will also include large group gatherings around the church seasons and breakout sessions with topics of grace, United Methodist History and United Methodist lingo as well as Holy Clubs throughout the weekend. Not meant to be the only confirmation youth go through, the Confirmation Retreat should be complementary to what a church is or will be doing.

Explore Sapelo Island, learn about a Civil War soldier's life on Amelia Island and cruise by Cumberland Island. Spend the day touring the Gullah Geechee community on Sapelo and have a home cooked buffet lunch at a resident's home in Hog Hammock. A costumed garrison guide will give a private tour of Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island and share its strategic importance during the Civil War. Board a private charter for a peaceful cruise up Beach Creek for a close up look of the natural habitat of Cumberland Island National Seashore.

The Coastal Heritage Society, the Massie Heritage Center, the Coastal Georgia Historical Society and Fort Frederica National Monument invite you to experience a unique "hands on" history lesson. Spend one day in Savannah and another on St. Simons Island. Learn about 3 centuries of history as you visit the World War II Home Front Museum; St. Simons Lighthouse Museum; Fort Frederica National Monument; Christ Church, Frederica; Massie Heritage Center; Georgia State Railroad Museum; Battlefield Memorial Park and the Savannah History Museum.
